Dubai Billionaire Invests $20 Billion in U.S. Data Centers
Hussain Sajwani has pledged to build data centers across the United States.
Hussain Sajwani, the UAE-based billionaire founder of Damac Properties, is making a big move in the U.S. tech sector with a $20 billion investment in data centers countrywide.
The announcement, made during a recent press conference with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, not only strengthens the American tech industry but also deepens the already strong ties between the two men.
According to Trump, Sajwani’s investment will help build massive data centers in key regions, including the Midwest and the Sun Belt, which are essential for supporting the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies. “These data centers will help keep America at the forefront of technological innovation,” Trump stated.
Sajwani, whose net worth is estimated at $5.1 billion, made it clear that he’s eager to do even more. “If the market allows, I hope to invest even more than $20 billion,” he remarked. The first phase of the investment will focus on Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The 71-year-old businessman called Trump’s election “amazing news” for him and his family, adding that it was an “honor” to work together on their shared goal of driving innovation. For Sajwani, this partnership is about more than just business—it’s personal, and it’s about leaving a lasting impact on the future of technology.

This latest announcement isn’t the first time Sajwani and Trump have collaborated. Their partnership dates back several years, with Damac building a Trump-branded golf course in Dubai in 2016. That project was controversial during Trump’s presidency due to his international business dealings, but it didn’t dampen the friendship between the two men.
Sajwani’s influence extends beyond Trump. He was recently spotted celebrating New Year’s Eve at Mar-a-Lago alongside Trump and Elon Musk, the world’s richest person. The three posed for a photo, highlighting that Sajwani’s circle of influence is as impressive as his business portfolio.
Despite his deep ties to Trump, Sajwani isn’t solely focused on business. He’s spoken highly of Trump’s golf courses, even though he admits he’s not as passionate about the sport. “For people who play golf, they understand that Trump delivers the highest quality of golf courses,” Sajwani once told Forbes.
